About Ivinson Home

An independent living community for senior women living in Laramie, Wyoming

The Ivinson Home is an independent living community for senior women living in Laramie, Wyoming. The ladies of the Ivinson Home enjoy safe and easy-maintenance living, while living independently and engaging in social activities with other seniors women.

Opening its doors to residents in the spring of 1930, the Ivinson Home started with the purpose of providing senior women a home-like atmosphere with hotel-like amenities. Now, nearly a century later, the goal is still alive and well.

The ladies of the Ivinson Home are provided with a room and bathroom of their own that they can decorate as they wish. The ladies may come and go as they please, and have the option of enjoying three meals a day in the dining room, exercise activities in the living room, and the use of an in-house beautician.

Costs of living are largely covered by an endowment left by Edward Ivinson at the bequest of his wife, Jane. The residents of the Ivinson Home are able to make monthly donations according to their ability to pay.
